Prodaid manufactures feeding system with hopper & bowl feeder for 3 legged Metallic component

Prodaid Engineers, the 40 years old vibratory bowl feeder manufacturer from Bangalore recently manufactured a complete feeding system wherein a three legged metallic component was to be fed. The orientation required was that one leg should be facing the bowl centre while the gap between the other two legs to be resting against the wall of the bowl. The component had a tendency to rotate when the outlet was stopped. Hence, Prodaid provided an overflow mechanism which resulted in the components falling back into the bowl once the outlet was stopped. Polyurethane coating was provided for the bowl to reduce the noise level as the bowl and the components being metallic, a lot of noise was generated due to the metal to metal contact. A bowl having diameter of approximately 750 mm was used for this purpose. An additional requirement was for an extra capacity hopper for loading of 75 kgs of components. As a hopper is usually kept on the top of the bowl and hence the loading height becomes very high, beyond 2 mtrs. As the wt. of the components was more, it was difficult to expect the operator to feed at this height. Hence, Prodaid provided a pneumatic cylinder to take up the complete hopper with the components. The components could be loaded at the bottom point which was just 500 mm from the ground level. Then a manually operated pneumatic push button was to be activated to take up the hopper upto the level of the bowl so that the parts were then moved into the bowl gradually with the help of a linear vibrating tray. A level controller in the bowl ensured this was made automatically. The supply also included a stand for the vibratory bowl feeder. The customer was a major machine manufacturer based in Bangalore. Prodaid completed this equipment with support from its partner, Elscint Automation and ensured that the supply deadline was adhered too.
